1. Hard water flows
through the water softener and as it does so the hardness
is trapped and held inside the softener. |

2. After a time the
water softener fills up with hardness and cannot continue
to soften the water. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
3. At this point the
water disconnects itself from your plumbing and uses salt
water to 'regenerate' (flush and clean) itself, flushing the
accumulated hardness and residual salt water away down the
drain. |

4. It then rinses using fresh water before
automatically reconnecting to your plumbing, ready to carry
on softening your water. |
Tapworks water softeners incorporate the Genius
Chip™. It monitors water usage and controls the whole
regeneration process to maintain a continuous supply of top quality
softened water to your home.
Proportional Salting
The exact amount of salt needed for each regeneration is measured
and calculated in proportion to the amount of softened water used
since the last regeneration.
Greater efficiency
In addition to the standard proportional salting the Genius
Chip™ also adjusts the salt levels automatically to reflect
your family consumption. So lower water users will benefit from
even greater efficiency.
Soft water quality
As the Genius Chip™ prevents the water softener
from running out, the water softener is only ever partially exhausted
so each regeneration is quickly and thoroughly completed. Also,
there is always a zone of highly regenerated softening resin at
the base of the softener. This 'polishes' the already softened water
to remove any residual traces of hardness, often left behind by
other machines.
Tapworks water softeners are easy to operate. Once
installed, all you need to do is fill the unit from time to time
with salt. It's that simple!
